The Banshees of Inisherin (OmU)

Padraic (Colin Farrell) und Colm (Brendan Gleeson) leben auf einer abgelegenen Insel an der Westküste von Irland. Sie sind schon ihr Leben lang Freunde. Der Schrecken ist groß als Colm plötzlich beschließt, ihre Freundschaft zu beenden. Mit der Unterstützung seiner Schwester Siobhan (Kerry Condon), die zusammen mit dem Sohn des örtlichen Polizisten Dominic (Barry Keoghan) ihre ganz eigenen Probleme in der kleinen Inselgemeinde hat, versucht der am Boden zerstörte Padraic, ihre Freundschaft wieder aufleben zu lassen. Doch Colm stellt ihm ein schockierendes Ultimatum, um seine Absicht klarzumachen. Die Ereignisse beginnen zu eskalieren und komplett aus dem Ruder zu laufen.

Set on a remote island off the west coast of Ireland, THE BANSHEES OF INISHERIN follows lifelong friends Pádraic (Colin Farrell) and Colm (Brendan Gleeson), who find themselves at an impasse when Colm unexpectedly puts an end to their friendship. A stunned Pádraic, aided by his sister Siobhán (Kerry Condon) and troubled young islander Dominic (Barry Keoghan), endeavours to repair the relationship, refusing to take no for an answer. But Pádraic’s repeated efforts only strengthen his former friend’s resolve and when Colm delivers a desperate ultimatum, events swiftly escalate, with shocking consequences.
