SP 03: Queer Fever

Das Abweichen von heteronormativen Vorstellungen führt nach wie vor zu Irritationen und Außenseiterdasein. Auf der Suche nach einer Antwort auf die Frage, warum nicht einfach jeder Mensch sein kann, wie es eben beliebt, ohne jedesmal Rede und Antwort stehen zu müssen, bewegen sich die Filme der diesjährigen Auswahl von einer turbulenten Familienfeier, über eine peinliche Befragung beim Psychiater vor einer Geschlechtumwandlung, hin zur voller Selbstbewusstsein und Selbstverständnis ausgelebten Drag-Show mit Glitter und Propangasfee.

Deviating from heteronormative ideas still leads to irritation and being an outsider. In search of an answer to the question of why everyone can’t just be who they want to be without having to answer every time, the films in this year’s selection range from a turbulent family celebration to an embarrassing interview with a psychiatrist before a sex change, to a drag show full of self-confidence rounded off with glitter and a propane fairy.
